Studies have shown that utilities will face a 25% workforce turnover within the next 5 years.

I recently received this piece of information from one of the news services I use for utility information. If you wonder why you get ten different answers to the same answer when you contact your utility provider, this is one of the reasons. This creates a revolving door and the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing in many cases.

It also doesn't take a Nobel prize in economics to figure out who the utilities want to push out the door to cut costs. That's right, senior management. Why pay high salaries when you get a twenty something, work them to death and they're grateful just to have a job.

Trying to get help and a simple question answered is not so easy and it only becomes more difficult as utilities create this type of high turnover.
